H. J. Brothers (1888-1947) American, Etching signed in plate, and lower right under image in pencil, with title, "A Bit of Old Mexico in Los Angeles" in plate, and noted in pencil under image. Charming scene with old buildings, a central fountain, and street vendors under canvas awnings. Image is 5" x 7", framed in gilt and antiqued wood to 11" x 13" x 2". Originally executed by the artist, an etcher by trade, in the 1930s; we do not know if this is or is not a posthumus restrike. Excellent condition. $16 US Shipping. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Born in Ramsgate, England on Aug. 22, 1888. Hal Brothers immigrated to San Francisco in 1923.
