1870 Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Dessert Set England
Rare, brown, underglaze mark of 1870, Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Company, Fenton, Great Britain, 39-Piece Porcelain Dessert Set with white ground, partially hand-decorated in delicate, pastel floral, transfer pattern, with brown gadroon border and gilded rim. One Creamer, one Sugar (or waste bowl), 12 Dessert Plates, 12 Deep Saucers, 11 Teacups, and two Luncheon size plates. The creamer is very important to this set, as it is the only piece with the maker's mark. Some pieces have the painter's mark on the base.

All measurements approximate; Creamer, 3.75" x 3" (9.52 x 7.62 cm) diameter; Sugar or Waste Bowl, 2.75" x 6" (6.98 x 15.24 cm) diameter; Dessert Plate 7" (17.78 cm) diameter; Luncheon Plate 9" (22.86 cm); Deep Saucer, 1" x 5" (2.54 x 12.70 cm) diameter, Cup, 2" x 3.25" (5.08 x 8.25 cm) diameter.

Excellent Condition, with only some gilding loss to rims; and very fine crazing throughout. c. 1870. $60 US Shipping.
