| Large, Sommerso Fruit Bookends or Sculptures, Murano Art Glass, by one of the top makers of the 1950s, Italy. These beauties measure 6.50" (16.51 cm) in height for the Pear, and about 4.50" (11.43 cm) largest diameter. The apple is 4.75" (12.06 cm) tall, and about 4.50" (11.43 cm) largest diameter. Although it cannot easily be seen in the photos, there is a lot of included gold dust within both applied clear leaves. There is only one flaw to the pair, and it is on the underside of the apple's leaf and is only detectable by touch or close examination (see photo). A gorgeous pair of bookends, each with two polished surfaces for lying down, or standing upright, and priced right. Very large and very heavy. c. 1950s. $20 US Shipping. | |||||||||||
