It's hard to improve on Mother Nature... this tiny Natural Shell Box is exquisite! The photos do not adequately show the lusterous, iridescent surfaces, both inside and out, of the shell, assuring that you will be even more pleased when you see it in person. Resting on gold-tone gilt metal stand, with gilded mounts, hinge, and clasp, this precious beauty measures approximately 3.25" (8.25 cm) wide, 2.25" (5.71 cm) deep, and 2.50" (6.35 cm) tall. The shell, itself, is 2.25" x 1.50" x 1.50" tall (5.71 x 3.81 x 3.81 cm). Displayed fully opened, it measures 3.50" (8.89 cm) tall. Condition is excellent with expected darkening to the gilding. c. 20th Century.
