18th Century Miniature oil painting of herder with sheep, goats and a cow; outstanding artist with much detail, on an enameled plaque (see verso), unsigned and no marks. Appears to be original copper frame. 3.50" diameter, 4.375" diameter with frame. Condition is quite good, although there are areas of loss, especially in the black areas, and on the herder's legs, fine cracquelure throughout. Owner has recently had the painting professionally cleaned. c. 18th Century. $12 US Shipping. |
