Doris Riker Beers (1898-1967) painted a watercolor series of "Views of Nantucket" of which this is one, "Orange Street," showing the South Tower of the Unitarian Church, built in 1809, and famous for the old Portuguese Bell which tolls at 7am, Noon, and 9pm. Signed in pencil, lower right. The miniature watercolor measures 3-7/8" x 3-3/8", matted and framed to 9" x 8".
