8 Cups & 8 Saucers, thickly lined in brilliant Sterling Silver, by Dorothy C. Thorpe, 1930s and into the 1950s artist studio, one of the California Modernists. Between this set and another set of plates, only one piece retains a signature (pictured), although all are unmistakably Dorothy Thorpe. The Thorpe staff used blanks from several well-known manufacturers of porcelain and glass of the era; this set is white-white, in a textured, woven pattern.
