Unusual shape in this beautiful girasol (opalescent, or opal glass) fingerbowl and underplate from 19th Century Venice. Both the bowl and the plate have puffed ribbing -- the bowl's beginning halfway down, continuing to the center base; and the plate's is at the base, rising around the curve. Diamond-patterned gold causes much glistening in both pieces. Both rims undulate slightly, and the underplate rim is folded for reinforcement. Both have sharp pontils. By Salviati Dott. A lovely, unusual pate de verre plaque in the shape of a heart, with "lacy" edging, and young boy with basket. There is a hand-engraved signature on the side, a date that appears to be 1918 or 1978, although the style of the piece indicates the earlier date; and we cannot identify the mark with interlocking letters, presumably the artist's symbol. 5" x 4.5" x .75" (12.70 x 11.43 x 1.90 cm) deep. Means for hanging on wall has been drilled into the back. Excellent c ...click for details

Unsigned, likely by Fritz Heckert as much of the pattern of the gilt is in keeping with a design he frequently used. Over the 125+ years, it is understandable that the usual gilt "FH" signature which would have been on the base might certainly have worn away. The pink opaline is decorated on three sides in the raised gilt pattern, interspersed with tiny white and blue and pink flowers and flower buds, as well as three attached, sapphire blue glass "jewels." About 5.75" ...click for details
Unsigned, although attributed to Moser, 19th Century Bohemia, Art Glass Perfume. Bulbous body is heavy with acid-etched gold, overpainted with thick, raised enamel in a lovely floral pattern of pink roses and smaller flowers of blue and orange, all with tiny green leaves. The cap and atomizer stem are likely gold-plated metal. Overall height is 4.75", 2.75" diameter body. Condition is excellent, with slight loss to the gold-plating, and the need for a replacement atmoizer bulb (ab ...click for details
Turn-of-the century art glass tazza, swirling shadow ribs in both the removable bowl and the attached foot; thick hand-gilding around edges in floral and leaf design; both the bowl and the foot have ground pontils; engraved number on the base reads "Ro195802." This same piece is documented in Miller's Glass book.
