Late 19th Century to early 20th Century, fine quality amber glass vanity jar with guilloche lid, marked on side "Made In Germany." Faberge introduced enamel to guilloche engraving in 1886, and it followed that, very intricate patterns were developed by most of the great jewelry houses of the time; this is one such intricate pattern. The inside of the lid is enameled in dark blue, covered with the remains of the original cork liner; magnification reveals the fine lines of the engraving. ...click for details
