Handpainted porcelain figurine of the 14th & 15th Century Queen of France, Elizabeth of Bavaria (1371-1435), named on the base as "Suivante d' Isabeau de Baviere." Elizabeth was the was the wife of Charles VI, King of France. Her deep magenta gown is trimmed at the hem in ermine, decorated overall with gilt flowers. Gilt also adorns her bodice, necklace, forehead jewelry, and her blue head dress. The base is marked with her name, in red, and the faint blue crown and shield. ...click for details

Handpainted porcelain figurine of Jeanne de Sancerre, Countess of Dammartin, France, and who lived about 1275-1350; citations of her birth and death dates are confusing, with some suggesting her death as early as 1328, and others as late as 1360. Jeanne (Joan) wears a soft lilac gown trimmed in ermine, and an elaborate head dress typical of the times. Her features are delicately portrayed in the superbly worked porcelain. Handpainted porcelain Medieval Italian Queen Hermengarde (804-851), the Empress of Rome, and wife of Roman Emperor Lothaire 1. She is elegantly attired in a long, brilliant sapphire-blue gown, with mink trim. The under portion of the Empress' head dress is also made of mink; occasional gilt trim at neck and on head dress. Rare Solid Sterling Silver Dessert / Soup Spoon, monogrammed "S", by "Cady & Olmstead," New Haven, Connecticut, also marked "Sterling," and "Pat. 1891," with the company's hallmark. The unknown pattern name has scrolling completely around the perimeter of the handle, with a crown (or partial shell) design center top, pattern repeated on the reverse. 6.75" long. Pair of 19th Century Patch Boxes, or Jars; Sterling Silver, chased lids, both lids without damage. Each marked twice, "Sterling," and "Sterling BENS." Faceted Crystal bases are unmarked; with the exception of one tiny chip to one jar, pictured, they are in superb condition. Both were found packed in a 19th Century trunk among several fine articles from the 1800s. Petite 19th Century Guilloche Enameled Sterling Silver with Vermeil overlay (gold), Demitasse Spoon. Two tiny enameled blue and white flowers on either side, where the metal and the enamel meet. Both the guilloche and the enameled flowers are on front and verso of the spoon. The only mark we find is "Sterling" impressed into the handle verso; origin unknown; has a Russian look to it. 4.25" long.
