Fine impressionist Oil Painting on board, by listed Soviet artist, Vasili (also, Vasiley) Andrrianovich Zaitchenko (1912-1980s), of Barges on the Black Sea. Zaitchenko was born in Odessa which was then part of the Soviet Union, and which gained its independence as part of the Ukraine subsequent to his death. Highly glazed, brilliant white, porcelain letter holder in ornate, Italian Rococo relief pattern, signed on base, "Gerold Porzellan, Bavaria, Made in Western Germany," and logo, mark of 1949 onward; impressed style number of "6709." 9.5" (24.13 cm) wide, 6.5" (16.51 cm) tall, 5.5" (13.97 cm) deep. With the exception of minor original manufacturing flaws on the base, it is in excellent condition. c. 1949-1971. $20 US Shipping.

Offered as a pair, rare, exquisite portraits of brother and sister, skillfully handpainted in 1881 by "F. A. Francis, NY." Both plates are marked by impression, "Wedgwood WG," and both are signed on the front by the artist, the girl also being dated. Slightly larger than his sister, the boy's charger is a generous 15" diameter, while the girl's charger is nearly 14" diameter. Both are in excellent undamaged condition.
